MEET JAMES F. RIVENBARK, III, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Rivenbark is originally from North Carolina. He graduated cum laude with a BA in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1977 and subsequently received his M.D. from the UNC Chapel Hill in 1981. After 3 years of internal medicine residency at North Carolina Memorial Hospital, he joined Diagnostic Clinic in 1984 and actively practiced medicine for 20 years.
Dr. Rivenbark served in a consulting capacity at Largo Medical Center Hospital from 1993 - 1997 with a focus on improved utilization and quality. This resulted in him receiving a statewide award in 1996 for reducing the length of patient hospital stays by more than any other Florida HCA hospital.
He was later appointed as Medical Director of Diagnostic Clinic in 2000 to manage a Medicare health plan. He held this position until being named Chief Medical Officer in 2003. In his position as CMO, he serves a dual role as the Clinic's Medical Director and Chief Operations Officer.
Dr. Rivenbark is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and completed a program in the Business of Medicine at USF in 2002.
